Retired Superintendent-Concord Community Schools

Wayne Stubbs recently retired (2015) as Superintendent of Concord Community Schools in Elkhart, Indiana. Prior to his appointment as Superintendent, Wayne was the Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment for Concord Schools for six years.

Wayne’s 37 years as an educator have provided him with a multitude of leadership and educational experiences at the K-12 level. His career includes 18 years as a middle school and high school band director, four years as a middle school administrator, five years as Supervisor of Curriculum and Instruction, six years as an assistant superintendent, and four as superintendent. In these roles, Wayne developed curriculum, designed assessment tools, served in various district level leadership positions, and represented the school district in state level committees and organizations. Wayne has served as a Professional Development Consultant with The Leadership and Learning Center over the last eight years. During this period, he developed, implemented, and monitored critical initiatives that focused on improving student achievement.

As a native “Hoosier,” Wayne received his bachelor’s, master’s, and Indiana Principals License from Ball State University. He completed his Educational Specialist in School Superintendency from Ball State in 2004.
